"WE'RE A MOVEMENT OF PEOPLE PUSHING FOR WIDESPREAD CHANGE. WE WANT TO SAY GOODBYE TO WASTED FOOD AND HELLO TO A NOURISHED NATION, MAKING FRIENDS AND BUILDING COMMUNITIES ON THE WAY."

I founded CoTH because I was inspired by a similar project that I volunteered at in Wellingon, New Zealand. It had such a beautiful and warm vibe and I wanted to bring the concept home while adapting it to fit the needs of the varying communities in the UK.

I want to tailor each of the hubs we open to fit the needs of the community it’s in. I want all of our hubs to have a fun and relaxed vibe.

My background is in law but I grew up on the fringes of society in foster care and children’s homes. This means I truly know what it means to struggle, so I aim to do what I can to help those around me.

Due to the sheer size of London and the brisk pace we’re often forced to live at here, London can sometimes feel very cold and sterile. Our vision is to create a safe, inclusive and welcoming community-orientated space where we’re on a first-name basis with those that regularly stop by while welcoming new faces and hoping to see them again.

I believe in people. Not statistics. The statistics were always against me.

Our trustees

CoTH has a dedicated board of trustees, each with specialist skills

Our trustees provide valuable skills and experience to guide our direction. Their insight helps us stick to our core goals of alleviating food poverty, tackling hidden hunger, helping people back into work and combating social isolation.

Our volunteers

Unfortunately, we can't accept new hub volunteers at the moment as we are unable to operate our usual food redistribution service while we don't have a hub. However, if you would like to offer your services in office admin, PR/ marketing, volunteer coordination or social media management please don't hesitate to get in touch. We could always use your help to make us more attractive tenants so we can be up and running again asap!

From volunteer coordination, admin and research, to hub management, food collection and events assistance, our volunteers work tirelessly to help spread the word of the resourcefulness of food waste and to nourish vulnerable people in Lambeth.

CoTH has insurance to cover volunteers under 18. We just ask that all children are accompanied by an adult. So bring your children along to get to know CoTH!

Our houses

Our pioneering food suppliers make CoTH possible. Without their surplus food, this would be nothing but the dream of a wishful backpacker coming home…

“There is a big homelessness problem in Brixton and Sinéad has a great energy, she wants to help. We often have things that can help that would potentially go to waste, and if they can go to someone who really needs them, then why waste them? It’s that simple really.”

“We decided to work with Compliments upon meeting with Sinéad. Her passion and energy resonated with our own ambitions to help feed those in need. Compliments feeds a wide variety of people who need food, based on a range of different circumstances. It was our ambition to get to know the community we were supporting and Compliments has provided this opportunity to see exactly where our food goes to help.”

Our sponsors

Not to be dramatic but... patrons are the lifeblood of our organisation!

CoTH is an unfunded, grassroots, volunteer-led charity; so we can’t thank the generous individuals, companies and groups who make up our patrons enough.
